Can you believe it's already December?!

Thanksgiving has passed and Christmas is just around the corner! Out and about in Bigfork doing some Christmas shopping? Come in and get some Christmas cheer with our Cider Shine cocktail, made with Whistling Andy Moonshine and house made apple cider. While you’re here, pick up any one of our handcrafted spirits for friends or family and be entered to win a bottle of our 100% Whistling Andy produced Straight Bourbon! We also have a variety of other great gift ideas; shirts, hats, glasses, flasks and prepackaged Whistling Andy gift baskets!

Currently, tours are available by walk-in Monday through Friday 12-6 p.m. And right now, through, we are offering a tour, tasting and etched Whistling Andy glass! 

Join in the Festivities!

December 2nd - Gabe and I will be serving Whistling Andy cocktails at Shorty’s Barbershop for the annual Downtown Kalispell Art Walk, so swing in and warm up with one of our signature hot toddy drinks!

December 3rd - Starting at 5:30, all of us from WA will be riding in downtown Bigfork’s Annual Holiday Parade with our very own float handing out 2 for 1 drink cards.

December 18th - We will be hosting a Christmas cookie decorating party on December 18th from 3-6. Bring the little ones in for a fun night of decorating and packaging for gifting.  We will have hot chocolate and apple cider for the kiddos and hot buttered rum for adults.

December 23rd - We will be hosting a Festivus party! Come celebrate the holiday season with us where we will share our feats of strength and allow for the airing of our 2016 grievances. 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Cider Shine Recipe:

  • 1-2 Oz W.A. Moonshine

  • Homemade apple cider

Our favorite Apple cider recipe:

  • Organic Apple Cider of your choice  

  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar

  • 1 tsp whole cloves ( about 8)

  • 1/3 tsp ground ginger

  • 1 lemon or Orange sliced( not peeled)

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

  • Heat and strain before serving

Happy December all!

Here at Whistling Andy, we pride ourselves in using Montana grown grain and personally knowing the farmers who grow it. We are proud to say, as of this past November, we have now used over 50,000 pounds of 100% Montana grain sourced within 50 miles of the distillery in our spirits in 2016. Typically, we use 1000 pounds of grain in each of our mashes, meaning we personally haul lots of grains into the distillery on a weekly basis. We are looking to double that number come 2017, with the number of states requesting Whistling Andy Spirits ever increasing. We’re always happy to give back to the Montana agriculture industry and will continue to help that industry grow for years to come.

With Snowy days approaching us here at Whistling Andy, we are amping up the hot toddy menu to include more hot beverages to keep you feeling warm. We offer regular espresso daily, and for those of you who want a little kick for these dreary days, throw in a shot of our Harvest Select Whiskey for a midday pick me up!  This month our featured drink is the "All Things Chai." This delicious cream and spice combo and features two local products, combining 5 Sparrows Chai and our own Hibiscus Coconut Rum.

As October ends and November begins, it’s time to start thinking about Christmas! (I know, already!) With the thought of Christmas comes time to start planning your Christmas gift ideas for all the family members and we have that one "hard to buy for" someone covered! What better than a handcrafted spirit from Whistling Andy or one of our prepackaged gift baskets! We also offer an array of merchandise from hats & tees to etched glasswear. I hope you will stop buy to say hello, have a warm beverage and check out all our goodies :)

  • Playboy Magazine just featured an article on the strangest spirits made in every state and with over 17 distilleries. Here in Montana, W.A. takes it with our award winning Hibiscus Coconut Rum!

  • The Whiskey Wash just did a very nice review about our 3 year aged Straight Bourbon Whiskey describing it as, "neat and strikingly pleasant, full balanced with a clean and quick finish."

Hello there,

I hope you all are enjoying the change of season. As much as I like our summers here in Bigfork, I'm ready for the cooler weather.

It has been quite a busy summer of production here in the Whistling Andy D.S.P.  In case you weren't sure what D.S.P. means, let me clarify. It means Distilled Spirits Plant. Each distillery in the country is giving their own D.S.P. number by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau.  I'm happy to say the Whistling Andy DSP production has nearly double since this time last year. In the past three months alone we're proud to tell you that we have put up 18 barrels of whiskey, split between our Bourbon and our Harvest Select Whiskey. Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing these barrels until late 2018 at the earliest. However, we have just bottled our latest batch of Harvest Select Whiskey and Straight Bourbon.  I'll raise a glass to that!
